First Edition – the Action Engine
The action:engine is the name of our original fast play rules which had three settings 7TV, 7ombieTV and 7th Voyage. The action:engine served us well for ten years, but was replaced by the core 7TV system in 2016 – with slicker, simpler and more cinematic game play.

Second Edition Boxed Sets
Over that time, circumstances changed, and the game evolved as we added new elements to each box and honed the mechanics. But that rapid expansion also meant an increasing number of existing players were unsure about what exactly formed the essential 7TV ruleset.
The 7TV Core Rulebook - one book to rule them all!
Consequently, we felt it was time to step back and develop a definitive core rulebook that clarified everything, both for 7TV veterans and for new players. Therefore the previous boxed sets will not be reprinted, but will take a new form in genre guides – which are being reissued from 2023.
The 7TV Core Rulebook draws together the rules from all our previous boxed sets into a single resource. With it, you’ll be able to enjoy all the flavours of cinematic skirmish fun.
The Core Rulebook is backwards compatible with boxed sets!
While the 7TV Core Rulebook has also standardised a few terms that differ across the older boxed sets – never fear – the core mechanics stay exactly the same across all boxed sets!
So the new 7TV Core Rulebook and the supporting products are all compatible with your boxed sets. The remaining stock of products produced for boxed sets can be found at the links below:
