VENUE - PLAYERS PARADICE, NEWPORT PAGNELL

Players Paradice, 19 St John Street, Newport Pagnell, MK16 8HE

This year's event will be held at the impressive Player’s Paradice in Newport Pagnell. This huge games store has miniature, collectable card, boardgames and comic store all in one place!

Our event is being held across the whole top floor with room for a campaign for 20-30 players, demo games for drop-in folks and space for some presentations.

Please provide your own lunch, which can be eaten in the rooms we are using. The venue has a cafe and bar serving cold and hot food all day. Plus the store is in the middle of the town, so has a range of eateries and coffee shops if you prefer to grab a snack or lunch within five minutes walk.

For any folks wishing to stay over, there are also a number of nearby hotels to suit every budget.

POST PIZZA PARTY

We'll also be organising a table at Muratti's Pizzeria opposite the venue, after the event if folks would like to join us. Full details of this to follow, but please note this is not included in the ticket price!

Cast building

The event’s theme is inspired by the wacky weekend magazine shows that were packed with cartoons, glitzy foreign imports and the plethora of repeats of the puppet shows and action series of yesteryear.

Each player will bring a themed cast of up to 40 ratings comprising profiles from the 7TV Core Rulebook or the 7TV: The 80s Genre Guide. Casts may be heroic, villainous or neutral.

Terrain setup

All episodes will be played on a 3x3 ft playing area. Terrain will be placed in advance and should not be moved by the players.

Players may bring a table of themed terrain – please arrange this in advance with the organiser. General guidelines are that the table should provide plenty of cover, pathways across the table and preferably multiple height, climbable terrain in the middle third of the table.

Episode rules

All episodes (games) will use Core Script cards, with Props from the 7TV Core Rulebook and 7TV: The 80s Genre Guide.

Gaming accessories

In addition to your miniatures, profile cards you will need dice, plot points, status tokens, a ruler/tape and a sense of fun. If possible please bring relevant script and prop cards.

Entry

There are 30 places available to play in the campaign.

A list of entrants will be maintained on the Facebook event post.

Although this is intended as a non-competitive gaming day there may be a couple of awards (depending on number of entries) – all voted for by the players.

  • Best cast - judged on cast selection, model choice and painting!
  • Best set - most awesome gaming table!
  • Most sporting player - awarded for sportsmanship, comedy value and classic moments!
